Anyone know what website would sell some decent bullet wound fx?

Not sure of a website that has a tutorial on it... but you could buy some Scar Putty / FX Wax

Are you just after a wound itself (i.e. after someone has been shot), or do you actually want to show someone getting shot?

The Exposure website has a good article, with videos, showing you how to create gunshot effects with a pesticide spray thingy.

I know that the Red Cross used to create fake wounds at galas and fairs, so maybe you could enquire in your local area. If you can't find anything your happy with, you can always have the character holding the wound, with some sort of tube/pump system to create a blood flow.

I really would like just the makeup for the wound, preferably any latex aplication you might know of... on a side note I never did get the insectiside sprayer thing to work...

Halloween is around the corner, so shops will start carrying all the fun stuff. Keep your eye out for some of the make-up F/X prosthetics from a company called Woochie. All of their stuff is basic slip latex, but its easy to use and looks decent. Scroll through this page to see a few examples of the kits you can buy.

Alternatively, you can just buy some dermal wax from a costume shop. Put a wad of the wax on the location of the wound, smooth the edges, and use your finger to put a crater in the wax... basically you end up with a small volcano-looking thing. Apply your stage blood, and you're all set! The only problem is that the wax won't stay on as well as a latex prosthetic, of if you're going to have a character running around with a bullet-wound in his head, go with the latex applicance.
